Nearing the six-year mark, my time in Seattle has almost eclipsed the Minneapolis era preceding it. Of course, there are still things I miss about the place. Last night I discovered one of my favorite Twin Cities bands from 2005, Spaghetti Western String Company, had broken up in 2010.
The SWSC quartet was classical but lively, concentrated but breezy, and hugely talented for a scene that rewarded more than the occasional gimmick.
Luckily, before their exit, they left a gorgeous album to keep their memory intact. Enjoy the rest here.
